DRILL AND PRACTICE

 In the literature drill means intensive exercises with repetitions but practice means improving certain skills to automatism. We combine both term in one strategy exercise and consolidation or short drill strategy

 There are two different types of drill strategy:

• simple drill strategy and
• complex strategy of exercise and consolidation

 Educational software for narrow educational items that consists of little feedback informations are in the simple drill strategy. They provide little impact to the future educational process and basically means mechanical teaching to the automatism.

   

 In the complex strategies of drill and consolidation we include software that eliminates disadvantages of simple drill strategy by applying three important elements:

• it consists of working area of some greater educational subject (not only some items)
• it enables changing of educational material as soon as new educational material becomes available
• it enables changing from teh active educational material to the previous educational material and back to the active if needed.
